# Monthly statements

> The month-end statement and Stripe invoice for paid workspaces, from thothctl or the API.

Source: https://docs.atensecurity.com/docs/operations/billing-statements

After each calendar month ends, every paid workspace gets a statement for that month: how many
governed actions its agents took, what paid for them, the amount due, and the credit balance that
remains. Trials don't get statements.

Your plan fee is billed on its renewal date and credit top-ups when you buy them, each on its own
Stripe invoice. The statement covers how the month's governed actions were paid for:

- actions within your plan's allowance;
- actions paid from prepaid credits, shown at the credit rate and then applied from your balance;
- grace actions past the allowance, which are not charged.

Because the allowance and credits are paid in advance, the amount due on a statement is zero. A
matching Stripe invoice for the same month, also totalling zero, is sent to your billing contact.

## Download a statement

Admins can list and download statements, including after a plan has ended:

```bash
thothctl billing statements list
thothctl billing statements download 2026-10 --output october.pdf
```

The API:

```text
GET /{tenant}/thoth/billing/statements
GET /{tenant}/thoth/billing/statements/{YYYY-MM}/pdf
```

The PDF shows the month's usage table, the amount due, each unexpired credit top-up with what
remains and when it expires, and the Stripe invoice number.

Calendar-month figures start from the month a workspace first paid. The `thothctl billing
statements` commands need a thothctl release after 0.3.13.
